Frequently Asked Questions Q: When is the museum open? A: The First Friday of each Month as part of Portland's First Friday Art Walk. Donate today and become part of our goal to keep the doors open regularly! ----------------- Q: Who operates the museum and who is the PVFA? A: Check out our about page ------------ Q: Can we rent the facility for events? A: Not yet. We do have a fully functional and historic meeting room, with some update including a LCD Projector. When we have full time staff keeping our doors open we anticipate renting the facility for fire or community related use. Look for the PFM to hold events with new art displays or video presentations. But remember, show up early, we always have a packed house as seen from the 1912 Film Party (We also supplied good snacks!) ------------ Q: Can my group schedule a time to tour the museum? A: Yes. We can try to accommodate group requests. Please be advised this must be done well in advance. Use our contact info. Some members may also available for education and fire prevention discussions. ------------ Q: How can my company help the museum? A: Great question! Several companies have helped by donating services or funds including, Bath Iron Works, RiRa, Yorkie Oil Company & of course the member of the Portland Fire Department. Simple call us and leave a message. We will contact you ASAP. You can also encourage friends and family to visit our online store or make a tax-deductible donation. ----------- Q: Why the shameless plug for donations? A: We are working hard to preserve not only the firefighting history but the history of an American City. The artifacts in our museum need more care than we can afford.
